The Carl BarksLibrary – Uncle $crooge Collection III Uncle Scrooge 1-20IV Uncle Scrooge 21-43 V Uncle Scrooge 44-71 The Carl Barks Library of Walt Disney’s Donald Duck – Another Rainbow, 3 books per boxed set. In 1983 Another Rainbow took up the daunting task of collecting the entire Disney comic books, reprinting Carl Barks — over 500 stories in all — in the ten-set, thirty-volume Carl Barks Library . A chronological reprinting of all of Carl Barks material. Carl barks joined the Disney Studio in 1935, starting as an artist, and after 6 months transferred to the story department as a “gag” writer. He worked mainly on Donald Duck cartoons. In 1942 a storyboard for a planned Donald Duck feature length cartoon, Donald Duck Finds Pirate Gold, became a comic book story appearing in Dell Four-Color #9. For those who want to secure a quality reproduction of the “good duck artist” in artwork and stories in his prime, you cannot go wrong with any or all of these volumes. These oversized 9 X 12 inch hardbound volumes reproduced Barks´ pages in pristine black and white, as close as possible to the way he´d originally drawn them, and included mountains of special features, articles, reminiscences, interviews, storyboards, critiques, and more than a few surprises. Covers and reproductions of Carl Barks Duck oil painting are in color. The books are in excellent condition; there is some fading on the slip cases. This monumental project was finally completed in mid-1990. Uncle Scrooge debuted in 1947 as a protagonist for Donald: a rich cantankerous uncle in Christmas on Bear Mountain. Uncle Scrooge was a supporting character in Donald Duck stories for 4 years. Scrooge’s own comic premiered in Dell Four Color Comic # 386. After 3 issues, he had his own book. He lead Donald and his nephews on wild adventures. These volumes contain classic stories and one-page fillers. Extra features include essays by Bruce Hamilton, Donald Ault, and Thomas Andrae. Take a swim with Uncle $crooge in his 3 cubic acre money bin!
