This large Carl Block face jug was made in 2005. It has horns, a black face, blue eyes, blue and black ears, and white teeth! The colors on this pot are vivid and set perfectly. It measures 10 inches tall and weighs approximately 5 pounds. This is a great example of Mr. Block's work and it is in excellent and collectible condition. A native of Texas, Carl W. Block has spent over 30 years hand turning and hand sculpting pottery. His work has been featured in books and articles and is sold throughout the United States in folk and outsider galleries. His pottery is hand thrown, earthenware. He uses colored slips, bisqued, and then a clear glaze is applied over the pot. The result is quite unlike traditional southern folk pottery. The final product is full of colors, scratched through slip and a unique one of a kind ware. I ship UPS and sell/ship only to the continental U.S. Shipping cost is actual UPS cost plus 5.00 packing. All pots are double boxed and insured.
