Carl Forslund Carved Grouse This is a beautifully hand carved and hand painted grouse in excellent condition. It has no damage that I can find other than one small area between the neck and wing where the paint has chipped (see pictures). It is colorfully painted in black and brown, with accents in tan, and khaki . It measures 11" from beak to tail and stands 7" tall. Its "Carl Forslund Quaint Furniture American Grand Rapids Michigan" label has been removed, although you can see where it once was. Handwritten on the bottom is "Hand Carved at Carl Forslunds Studio Grand Rapids, Mich". It is one of two coordinating Carl Forslund Grouse I have for sale. It measures almost 10" beak to tail and stands 9" tall. Carl Forslund Furniture was a well-known furniture store for over 30 years, located in Grand Rapids, Michigan until the store closed in the 1970's. The carvings were offered in the furniture store and sometimes given as a promotional gift with furniture purchased. They carried a variety of many species of game birds. This shorebird was one of the last birds the company offered. This bird is from my father's estate, originally inherited from my grandparent's estate. My grandmother was a Carl Forslund fan and had collected both furniture pieces and carvings. I have 7 total Carl Forlund carved birds to post, so check out my other items for sale for some of his other pieces. They are highly sought after and would make a great addition to a collection. I start the bidding low, so don't miss out on this opportunity! I accept Paypal only for payment, which is expected within 3 days of auction end. If I have not received either payment or word from you regarding payment, item may be relisted and you may be reported to Ebay as a non-paying bidder, sorry. I ship Priority Mail to the US only.
