This is really stunning piece from the 1920s from W & R Carlton Ware . It is a Lustre Vase depicting a Kingfisher in flight, freehnd pinted in lusrous greens, blues and yellows, outlined in gilt against a light blue ground. There are overhanging tree branches and reeds in green and gilt. There is a gilt edging around both the top and the bottom. It is pattern number 2530. It measures approximately 8.25 inches (21 cms) in height with a base diameter of approximately 3 inches (7.75 cms) and is in perfect condition. Over time, there has been some light fading in small patches to the blue lustre, a not uncommon occurrence with pieces of this period and this colour. (Any lines in the photo are of my own making due to a reflection.) The base is backstamped appropriately in black.
