Carlton Ware KINGFISHER & WATER LILY rouge royale 10.8 inch plate. This beautiful large size display plate is decorated with the rarer Kingfisher & Water Lily pattern (pattern No 4391 ??) on a rouge royale lustre ground. Photo's don't really do it any justice as the plate is very reflective and very difficult to photograph. In very good condition with no chips, cracks or scratches. The reverse of the plate has some crazing and t is some very faint crazing on the front of the plate which can only be seen under close scrutiny. Some minor rubbing to gilding on the rim edge. All paintwork appears to be in good order and the plate has a true sound to it when tapped. Produced somew between 1936-1958. T is an impressed No "2379" above the backstamp which I believe to be the shape number. Approximate measurements: Diameter 276mm (10.8 inches) This very decorative plate would make a very good addition to someone's collection. Please feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions.
