This vase or ice cream cone holder is in perfect condition. I have never seen another like it. The top part has a diamond pattern and rays at the center of two side panels and "Carnation" vertically on each of the other sides. The zippered stem is thick and has a band of ovals above and below it. The large round foot is embossed "Carnation" at one side and "Celestino Costello Y Ca. Makers" across from it. T are two circular designs that say "5 cents" in each. This may have been used to serve a Carnation ice cream cone, or it may be an advertising piece. The open top has an opening of 3.25". The top is 4.5" high. The whole piece is 8.75" tall. The foot is 3.75". The foot is wider and thicker than a vase would require. Maybe it was from a soda fountain around the turn of the century. It is a rarity. I've been looking for another like it for 25 years. Insurance increases with price.
