Hello one and all, /watch?v=8PYIw9WXh2o Yes, you are correct! This is one of the VERY Rare Carnival Countdowns made by Nick Ruggiero of Collector's Workshop. I called Nick last week and he told me he only made five of these. This one is extra special for a number of reasons. Although the original routine called for a borrowed watch to be placed on a tray slowly decsending into a "vat" of acid, I adapted the routine to feature a parakeet to replace the use of the watch. The prop was featured in my Acme Wonder Show (see video teaser link above). As mentioned, Nick Ruggiero and I adapted the prop to facilitate using a parakeet(s) instead of a borrowed watch. As youâe(tm)ll see in the video the birdie winds up on my handcuff unharmed. It calls for two identical birds should you decide to perform that routine. Of course you can use the prop as it was meant to be experienced originally. You will see we designed and built a side table matching the design of the main striker prop. As the tub of âeoeacidâe is being placed on the side table by the performer, the little birdie #2 comes out from a trap door at the back of the shelf. T is a very clever spring loaded door that retracts into the shelf and a little swing arm gentle guides the birdie onto the handcuff. This mechanism worked 100% of the time.
