My mother had a number of carnival glass bowls and compotes for as long as I can remember. I grew up with them in the 1940s and I have them now. But I never saw this cookie jar. I found it when I cleared out my mother's house in 1980. I am no expert in carnival glass, or any other glass, but I think it is a reproduction and I think my mother got it sometime after she moved to Irving in 1958. She could have very well bought it at Ardinger's. However, the only thing I can say about it with any certainty is that my mother got it sometime before 1980. It is unmarked. It measures 6-1/4-inches in diameter. The cannister part, not including the lid and grape finial, is 6-1/2-inches tall. It is blue with purple and gold irridescence. You can feel it lightly inside but it cannot be felt from the exterior (outside) bottom. T are also two air bubbles in the interior bottom. Otherwise, the piece is in good condition with no chips, nicks or cracks. It is a nice looking piece and is solid, thick, very heavy glass, weighing 5lbs 15 ozs sitting unwrapped on the scale without a box, so I have entered 6-7lbs in the shipping calculator. Thanks for looking
