This beautiful green and luscious gold carnival glass bowl is a Persian Medallion design by Fenton (?). It is 9 and 1/2 inches in diameter, stands 3 inches tall, and weighs 1 and 1/2 pounds. It was appraised in 2001 for $165.00 as part of my sister in laws estate which my family inherited, and has been in storage ever since.
The bowl is covered in true irridescent green and has gold and brass colors combined in the center - LOVELY!!! The bottom of the bowl has a medallion, and that same image encircles the bowl. The bottom is trimmed in some sort of goldish cord and above it is some sort of checked design in gold and brass - as I mentioned earlier - LOVELY! The outside of the bowl begins with green at dead center, then gold, and green and maybe turquoise, then purples!! A rainbow of wonderful colors just pops out under the light. This looks as if it were a fancy ruffled skirt with a nylon slip under - REALLY!!! Just look at the photos! JUST MAGNIFICENT! I have found one sharp point on the ruffled edge but it looks as if that is caused by a bubble - difficult to say really. My sister in law kept this bowl on display in her formal living room and I am sure it has known no practical use whatsoever. It is so lovely and well cared for if you are looking for a carnival glass bowl - this is the one! The design of the medallion in an asian flair, the color of the gold and brass in combination with the green on front and purple on back is just too wonderful for words.
