This is a large... deep "Forest" Green... Deviled Egg Plate... in the old and always popular... "Moon and Star" pattern... and with a blushing Carnival Glass finish that adds sparkle... luster... and a never ending rainbow of colors across it's surface. Oval in shape this beauty measures an impressive 13 inches long... almost 10 and ½ inches across... and stands just about 1 ½ inches of the table top. It appears to be in excellent condition. This extra large Deviled Egg Plate has enough room on board to hold 10 luscious Deviled Eggs and still have space left over for generous portions of pickles, olives, cheese chunks or whatever else you might wish to serve along side. I'm finding no maker's marks on it anyw.. so for now... the name of the maker will have to remain a... " mystery"!!!... The "Moon and Star" pattern... also known as "The Palace"... is a Victorian Pattern which was first introduced in the 1800's. It has been said that Abraham Lincoln had glassware of this pattern for the everyday use in the White House... and that the late Kate Smith collected it. Numerous glass makers have used this pattern over the ensuing years.
