Vintage carnival glass plate in the "Peacocks" pattern in stippled purple glass by The Northwood Company, circa 1911-12. "Rib" pattern on the back side, sits 1 3/4 inches off the table at the rim. Scarce in stippled purple. Very good iridescence showing blues, pinks and purple highlights. Fine condition. T is a thin glass filament remaining from production between two of the rim tips as shown as in the last detail photo. We ship worldwide. Based on some questions from prospective bidders I am adding some additional detail to point out in the condition of this plate- as follows: The glass is very deep purple. In the larger size of the photos you can see two things. First, at the 10 Oclock position in the unstippled area near the rim t is a small spot in the iridescence that looks like a small rub. Second, t is a straw mark under the stippling, that crosses the neck of the right most peacock. It is difficult to see as it appears faintly due to the stippling and at certain angles it disappears in the iridescence. The first two photos show it faintly. On the back side photo you can see several stretch marks in the glass. Not uncommon on smooth carnival. Looking through the plate from the front under a very bright light these all show as being on the back surface only. T is a little wear on the tips of the tips topside, but no flakes or anything rough to the finger touch. The stretched webbing shown in the last detail photos - T are three other tips w the glass shows stretch between two tips but without any separation. If anybody needs more info don't hesitate to ask.
