's your opportunity to own a very hard to find set of Holmes & Edwards, "Carolina". Pattern dates to 1914. Sets with just knives, forks, and spoons are not difficult to find in most patterns. But, when you start adding serving pieces, you add a lot of cost to your set - especially when you have to buy them individually. This set has just about everything, including ice tea spoons. Keeping ice, during the World War I time period, was always a problem because it had to be kept in an ice box. Tfore, in pre-refrigeration days, ice tea was an uncommon drink. Apparently, early in the 20th Century, ice tea must have made some gains in popularity, because ice tea spoons started to show up in flatware sets - still they are hard to find in these early patterns.
