Ivory Paper Over Boards. Book Condition: Near Fine slight age toning/ DJ Good PLUS, split between board and spine, chipped at lower spine and fading/ Newell, Peter (illustrator). First Edition. Small 4to. First American Edition. 248pp. B/w ills. Ivory covers lettered in bright gilt front and spine, w/ small figure of man in gilt lower front. Age toning toward the edges. Front and lower edges untrimmed. Sage green DJ faded to brownish green/ gold lettered and decorated as book. Spine sunned, with chipped ends and split down spine edge. Each page has a wide border of animals, birds, or fish drawn in green with more creature hidden in details. Another 40 hilarious full-page ills. drawn by Peter Newell accompany Carroll's whimsical poetry.
