I'm pleased to offer for your bidding consideration this cartridge box which I found recently in the attic of a very old house in upstate NY(1790) which I was removing to a new location.Some years ago. This is among some other items of interest from the civil war time which were in an old biscuit box and gathering lots of dust over all this time. I will be offering the rest of the objects in my other listings for your bidding pleasure.( including the biscuit box). The leather condition has some problems with some dryness and flaking of the surface,but is surprisingly supple and plyable for the most part, especially for leather this old.The brass buckles are in excellent condition with a beautiful dark patination.One end of the belt has a torn look to it , possibly w one buckle was attached.I can only describe what I can see. I know next to nothing about the civil war but I am 100% sure that these items are authentic in the same untouched condition as I found them. I will be more than pleased to answer any questions about this item.I am starting the bidding at one dollar with no reserve.Please bid with total confidence .These remnants of our wonderful American history come to us after 140 years of storage, dust and all. They are painted black but have some rust to them.The rollers work well. The points of connection to the box have broken off. These buckles will be enclosed in the box when shipped.
