This is a carved bent pipe with a military bit stamped only "Italy."These pipes are found in Edward's Pipe Shops and other tobacconists supplied by Edward's and carry no name apparently so other shops can stamp them with whatever they wish, possibly their own name.They have become popular in the area of Florida where I live and I have smoked a couple of them. They are really decent smokers and quite light for their size attesting to the excellent curing of the briar used in them.This is a well-made pipe, sturdy and in great shape, but a previous owner was over-aggressive in lighting it with a cigar lighter and blackened a portion of the bowl rim.So, I minimized the scorch area by sanding out the original finish of the pipe and then redyed it black and worked the dye in first with olive oil and then with a hand-rubbed coat of caranuba wax. It has a flat bottom and is a good sitter. The push-style mouthpiece has a couple of light tooth abrasions but I do not grind down mouthpieces and destroy their structural integrity. This pipe restored quite well and is a good, solid smoking pipe with a lot of life left in it. I don't smoke dirty pipes, therefore I don't sell dirty pipes. This one has been thoroughly cleaned and sanitized. I use nothing but non-toxic, biodegradable products in restoring old pipes. This is a good serviceable older read more
