The original garniture of cut velvet mohair appears as a hue of soft sage taupe emblazed with the periods acanthus leaf on the slightly reclined back inviting one to sit and sink into its plush offerings of comfort. The three base cushions each fit snug across the lengthy 80" spans. The maple surround flows elegantly in the gondola wrapping form each arm is covered in the plush padded garniture encompassing tumbling swirls draped with floral foliage garland swags hand carved in incredible detail. Splashes of water swirls travel the scrolling arms descending to the flattened bun feet. Showcased on the scroll edged skirt is an artistic wonder as roses appear intricately cut and fitted in the marquetry technique to form a blended maple and walnut inlays boasting beautiful bouquets lying flush with the surrounding chestnut flavored maple canvas enhanced with an age induced patina.
