Gorgeous 19th century antique wall clock. This is a lovely highly decorative Louis XV style French giltwood and gesso on carved wood circa 1880-90s. The clock is extremely beautiful with large carved roses, scrolls and openwork , truly lovely! The face is gold and has ornate handles and glass is beautifully curved. The clock chimes on the half hour and hour, I might add its a totally enchanting chime, from another era to be sure. The clock is English made, as is the movement. This fine ornate clock measures about 26 inches by 13 inches, some of the gesso is worn, however in a pleasing manner, not distracting. The clock is in working order and would be fabulous to own. Perfect for the popular Shabby Chic, Romantic Cottage, Paris Apartment décor. A timeless beauty.
