Offered for Auction: Unique and Beautifully Carved Squat Ovoid Redware Pot with Alternating Bands by renowned Nicaraguan Potter Roger Calero. The bands are formed by cutting/etching the glazed surface and then perforating the exposed clay to create a porous effect (I'm guessing at the technique since the clay does not appear to be porous in its natural state). According to the accompanying note, the pottery is fired in a low temperature kiln so it is NOT suitable for liquids. This pot was originally distributed by A Different Approach, Fair Trade Handcrafts from Around the Worlds Condition: Good used condition with no cracks, chips or repairs. As with all hand crafted items there are imperfections, voids, drips and uneven texture and surface. The pot measures about 4 1/2" H x 6 1/2" at its girth and the lip is 2 1/2" in diameter and the bottom is 3" in diameter and it weighs 1 lb 4 oz A nice addition to anyone's collection Payment Method: PayPal Please Shipping: USPS Priority or Express I will combine postage with other lightweight and smaller items.
