Hello! My name is Paul Williams (Geppetto22) and this hand-carved basswood Santa is looking for a good home. He is the Second Santa carving I am offering for 2007. Each of my Santas is individually imagined, sketched and then carved from a basswood block , never from a pre-carved blank or manufactured roughout. Each is unique. This Woodland style Santa has been out in the forest collecting some branches and limbs. He is toting a full basket of firewood to heat his North Pole workshop. The basket is a separate carving that is attached to his back and stuffed with some preserved twigs. His mittens were carved separate as well, and pinned in place with wooden dowel. The carry straps are leather strips. His woodland robe is pecan in color with chocolate trim and some hollyberry details. The carving is painted with acrylic paints and lightly sprayed with an acrylic matte protective coating. This Santa stands just at 10 inches tall. He is permanently marked PAUL WILLIAMS 2007 - 2. The second carving of my 2007 series, he is offered with no reserve and I hope that a discriminating collector will add him to their Holiday decorating tradition.
