The Case Nantucket Sleigh Ride is the second knife in the case series of whaling scenes. The Case Nantucket Sleigh Ride is a limited edition issue, sequentially numbered 0001 to 7,500 this is number 4051 . This knife features the scene of a Dorry being towed across the open sea by a harpooned whale. During the 1830's and 1840's this frequently observed sight off the New England sea coast was soon termed "The Nantucket Sleigh Ride" since Nantucket, RI was known as one of the largest whaling centers of the world at that time. Each knife has been hand crafted by the finest Case craftsmen using the finest materials available. The case Tru-Sharp surgical steel clip blade is saber ground and features a glaze finish and a razor sharp polished edge. The nickel silver bolsters are individually engraved with a florentine scroll design. Liners are solid brass. Each GENUINE NATURAL BONE handle is a virtual one of a kind with it's own grain patterns, checks, color variations and other natural imperfections. Every individually scrimshawed whaling scene contains the artists initial within the scene. The shadow box presentation case is made of polished northern hardwood with a walnut finish. The case is equipped with hangers so that it may be displayed on a table top or on a wall.
