Up for sale at auction is this MINT CONDITION full sized (3-7/8") muskrat. The tang stamp reads - "CASE XX" then "USA" then 3 dots. It was manufactured in 1977 . It has nickel silver bolsters, pins and liners. Both blades have excellent snap both opening and closing. This knife shows no signs of ever having been used, carried or sharpened, and the jigged Red Bone handles are free of chips and cracks. In good sunlight the handles show a tinge of purple coloring which give the knife a beautiful overall appearance. The case oval shield is pinned into the handle. These days CASE uses an epoxy to glue the shield to the handle which is a manufacturing cost savings. You can see the pins in the close-up photograph of the shield. It has thumbnail cutouts for both blades. These cutouts are a manufacturing step which CASE stopped performing years ago, also as a cost savings function. If you are a Muskrat collector I suggest you purchase this one - a 1977 MINT CASE MUSKRAT is a VERY RARE ITEM. The 1977 bone handle Muskrat is listed in the Price Guide from "All About Pocket Knives" for $140.00 ! ! ! Personal checks must clear. No international shipments. Buyer must be of legal age. Shipment will be made within 2 days via USPS. Insurance required - write for your cost.
