Hi, my name is Amanda, and Greg Easterly is my husband. He currently is in the hospital right now because he just had back surgery. The description was written by him as are all of the other descriptions on his other items, but he can't really handle all of this right now. So, I will be taking any questions or offers to him each day and will be responding on his behalf. Sorry if it takes a little longer than usual but I will be checking his account several times a day so t really should be no difference. Sorry for any inconvienience, bid with confidence because although my fingers are doing the typing, you're still dealing directly with him. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Hello I am adding this as of July 23rd at 7:30 AM Ebay time. I just lowered the price on this baby to show you all that Im willing to negotiate!! I have already had one offer and 25 watchers on this so someone beat this offer and you will get the best knife I have ever seen at far less than its actual value!! Hit the Buy it Now button if you dont want to take the chance of missing this and Ill ship this knife express mail with insurance for free! Also I thought I would let you know that I have talked to a couple more experts and even one that has written books on the subject and have been reassured that it is not entirely uncommon for this era to have 2nd cut stag on a bone frame. As a matter of fact they said it did happen a few times at the Case factory back then. That means that this knife is probably the only one left on the planet! One of a kind beauty! It is killing me to let this knife go so somebody buy it before I change my mind! LOL!! ______________________________________________________________________________________________ OK first thing...........This is not one of but is the most fantastic, beautiful and RARE knife I have ever collected or sold!!! Now lets get down to business.... I will tell you right off the bat this knife has puzzled me. When i first got it i thought it was second cut green bone handled, but since then I have acquired a Case Tested knife that is identical and it was second cut stag and I mean they were identical. So I beleive this knife is second cut stag. Also i have seen several old second cut stag knives that look just like this. The main thing that puzzles me is that the pattern number on this knife is 6265SAB and that would make this a bone handle knife. The number for Stag is 5 and the number for bone is 6. That is the first number of the pattern that stands for handle material. I have investigated this as much as possible. I did find a knife that looks like the exact same one in a price guide. It had a picture of this knife and called it second cut green bone. That book also showed a 4 year old value of $1200.00 If you look in the new Pocket knife Traders Price guide Vol. 8 that is written by Jim Parker and Ed Henley you will see a 2 blade folding hunter of this year with second cut stag handles to be valued at $1500.00 I have taken this to several people, investigated it for weeks. Sent photos to several experts on the net and have basically come to the conclusion that this is in fact a 5265SAB Case XX folding hunter. Back in the day at the Case factory one of the workers stuck these handles on thinking they were green bone. I cannot say for sure but i beleive this to be an error knife. This baby is in fantastic prestine condition with the only flaw that I can see is a tiny tiny blade rub. I have examined this knife from every angle and looked for all the factors that should be considered when trying to authenticate a knife. I can find no evidence that tells me this knife has ever been apart so I am 99% sure this baby is an original factory error knife. are the signs that I looked for: The pins are not visible on the bolsters, the blades have no wobble, the handles fit on perfectly with no gaps, when the knif...
