From the CERTIFICATE on the box: The Case Moby Dick is a limited edition issue, sequentially numbered by series. Each knife has been hand made by skilled Case craftsmen from th finest materials available. The high carbon stainless steel blade is saber ground with a polished edge; nickle silver bolsters are individually engraved; liners are solid brass. Each GENUINE NATURAL BONE handle is a virtual one-of-a-kind, with its own grain patterns, checks, color variations, and other natural imperfections. Every INDIVIDUALLY SCRIMSHAWED whaling scene contains the artist's initials within the scene. The shadow box presentation case is made of polished northern hardwood with a walnut finish. As with any fine knife, we recommend an occasional drop of light oil be applied to the hinge point of the blade and w the blade and spring rub against each other, to protect your investment. Remove the excess oil with a clean, soft cloth. W. R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company, Bradford , PA 16701 The main scene on this knife is a whale being harpooned by a small boat. A Whaling Boat is in the back ground along with clouds. Absolutely NO surface marks, cracks or bone-splitting! Single, Surgical Steel blade. This is a Never Carried, Never Sharpened, ONE OWNER knife! This knife is mounted in the original Wooden Display Case, and the Certificate of Authenticity is mounted on the back. This box is suitable for either wall-hanging or bookshelf display. This is the first knife in the Moby Dick Series. See my other auctions for the Nantucket Sleigh Ride! I will shoot additional pictures outside of the display box ONLY upon request of an EXISTING BIDDER . I have only had it out to verify stated condition, Serial Number and first picture set.
