Case XX Butcher Knife w/sheath. Camp Knife. This is an excellent Case XX butcher knife with a steel guard and a leather sheath. Looks like it would make the perfect camp knife instead of a hunting knife. This knife has the typical butcher's blade pattern with hammer marks along the blade. The overall length is 12-1/2" with an 8" blade. The steel guard is 2-1/2" long and 5/8" wide. It has a full tang with slab wood handles and three brass rivets. The handle appears to be walnut and is a hand-filling 1-inch square at the rear, tapering to 5/8" thick at the guard. The handles are tightly fitted to the steel tang. The blade is boldly marked "CASE XX", has a strong hand-forged appearance and is very sharp. A little work on the edge will move this knife into a world of its own. The leather sheath is well-made and all sewn seams are still tight. The leather is thick and still in good condition. T are no marks that indicate this knife has ever actually been worn on a belt. If you are looking for a great camp knife or just a good kitchen knife with a bit more attitude, this is the knife for you. I would actually like to keep it but the wife says it can't stay in her kitchen. Looks to mean, I guess. Oh well, my loss... This is your chance to get a great Case XX knife. I don't know how old it is, but I have not seen this model in the stores read more
