Up for auction is a Mother of Pearl Russlock (81953L SS) produced in December of 2000. According to Case this russlock (item #00443) was released in 2000 in a limited production of 400 pieces. Four and one eighth inches long closed, this Russlock has the Standard Case Shield and a Tang Stamp for the year 2001 (5x's and 4 dots). I assume even though Case produced these in 2000, they used the 2001 Tang Stamp as there were no more produced that year. An anomaly for sure. This beautiful Mother of Pearl Russlock has been in my collection since new and has never been used, sharpened or carried. There is however, a flaw in this knife. On the side opposite the shield there is a chip out of the handle. This can be seen in the upper part of the handle where the pearl meets the large bolster. I have taken a close up picture of the chip and as you can see, it is extremely small. If you feel that this is too significant a flaw I ask that you look closely at the picture before you bid.
