The Triple X. T's a lot of stories that some of the old vintage Cases had escaped the factory with an extra X stamped in the tang. This has never been verified, and is believed to be just a myth. In 1989, Bruce Voyles, the president of the American Blade Collectors Association, approached the late Jim Parker and asked him to produce a special Case knife with the XXX stamping. They both saw it as an opportunity to dispel the old myth, and at the same time create a unique Case collectable. Thus was born the Case XXX. The desirability of the XXX has skyrocketed over the years!!! The 2001 edition of the Case Classic Value Guide places a value of $3000 on this particular knife! (Page 4 Item "F"). This 6394 Gunboat has all the right things going for it. The handles are flawless. In some light they look green, in other light they look tan. All three blades are bright and shiny & without spots! All have the XXX stamping. The knife comes in the original box with COA. This is absolutely a beautiful example of why we collect knives!!!
