For sale is an antique stuffed kingfisher in case. I bought this recently from a local, reputable auction house. It is definitely pre 1940s, it looks Victorian and was in the same auction as many other Victorian examples of taxidermy. The solid wooden case is also (obviously!) old but in good condition. This is not a modern post war piece, something which is obvious from the mounting, case etc. This is a really nice example I bought it to keep but my wife has politely told me she "does not want any more dead birds in the house." Unfortunately therefore it has to go!!! The photos say more than I can really, one or two cobwebs on/in the case - needless to say the bird is beautiful as is obvious from the photos! I will post but would highly recommend collection from near Halesworth in Suffolk. I would pack carefully with polystyrene etc but due to the glass front this would still be a risk, postage is at buyer's risk, I'll get insurance for it just incase! Please note again, this an antique (pre 1940) bought from a reputable auction house who were satisfied regarding its obvious age, it is not a modern mounting of a protected species!
