CASSIUS MARCELLUS COOLIDGE, 1844-1934, AMERICAN O/B. LAYING EM OUT. 19'' X 24'', Signed LL, Condition is good, painting has some cracking and minor paint loss. Cassius Marcellus Coolidge, also known as Cash Coolidge, created the whimsical ''Poker Dogs,'' a series of oil paintings made in the 1920s depicting a group not only playing poker but engaged in other usually human activities. Around 1895, he painted a poster of a monkey riding a bicycle with a parrot on the handlebars for the Columbia Bicycle Company of Massachusetts. In this painting the bicycle rider is riding a Pope bike which later became the Columbia Bicycle Company of Mass.
