RARE! This Basil the mouse pin is part of a series of large, very limited cast member recognition pins, used for the Disneyland Resort Travel Company in Anaheim. The series features 8 different pins - Sebastian from The Little Mermaid, Ludwig Von Drake from assorted Disney shorts, Belle from Beauty and the Beast, Jiminy Cricket from Pinocchio, Professor Owl from Toot, Whistle, Plunk, Boom, Basil from the Great Mouse Detective, Pancha from The Emperor's New Groove and Merlin from The Sword and the Stone. The upper part of each pin features a character while the bottom features the text Ears Of Excellence. On the left is the set of Mickey ears. The back of the pin is stamped DRTSC Cast Exclusive. The pins are given to the top service performers during late 2006 and 2007. The edition size of the award pins from previous years was 250, so it is most likely that for this series as well. The pins were never sold to cast members or the public and had to be awarded to the cast member for performance. The pin is in great condition, measuring over 2 inches across and almost 2 inches high. Buyer pays $3 for priority shipping within the US.
