This is an old west style ball and chain. It is solid cast iron, and weighs 20 pounds. It's marked 'LEAVENWORTH PRISON KANSAS' in raised cast lettering. It does have a key, which fits both the shackles. The key screws in, must be all the way in to open the shackles and will not come out until screwed all the way out. I was really hoping it worked when I had them on for the pictures! and they do work, very well indeed.This is a very authentic looking and feeling set, is it? Who knows or rather who could tell?
