The Hubley Manufacturing Company of Lancaster Pennsylvania, founded 1894, was primarily known for its toys also produced a line of metal art goods. Hubley had a distinct understanding for quality of design and finish. And art is exactly what their craftsman produced. In the 1930's No. 347 Setter Dog doorstop was produced for the Hubley Art Line. This dog was designed for the sportsman, a man's dog. This is the original paint and in good collectible old condition, does show some signs of age. Please note the blue ticked finish. This was true to Hubley company and not reproduced by other foundries.... few areas of paint woren off and some crazing to paint (great indicator off age). Still has pink on mouth and very good paint definition to eyes. Please refer to photos to satisfy its condition. Seams line up and are very tight, no gaps. Original screws holding halves together some putty has fallen off and exposed area of screw. 8 7/8" x 15 1/2" No repairs, breaks, repaint or touch up with remarkable very little rust. In very good condition. This would make a wonderful addition to the Hubley or doorstp collector or just the dog lover
