Cast Iron Mechanical "LEAP FROG" Bank #HY-202 This is a first edition reproduction Book of Knowledge mechanical bank called Leap-Frog Bank. This bank does not have USA stamped on the bottom, which tells us it is pre-1974 as all banks after this year were stamped with USA on the bottom. The bottom does have the imprint of "PAT SEPT 15, 1891" (see photo for further detail) This bank is in absolute near-mint condition. This bank is in perfect working condition. T is no key, however the keyhole cover turns easily to open and it also catches to stay shut. Tfore it is perfect to use! The part that holds the mechanism in place, prior to discharging and allowing the coin to drop into the tree trunk, also works perfectly. This measures 4 3/4 inches tall by 7 1/4 inches wide by 3 1/4 inches deep. Reproductions from The Book of Knowledge are only increasing in value as time passes.
