Rare Cast Iron Police PATROL by Shimmer Ca. 1900 Please SCROLL DOWN for larger, more detailed photos This very rare cast iron horse drawn police patrol was produced by Shimmer around the turn of the century and issued in an unusual nickel plated finish. It's a very elegant piece, though not without some flaws: Many of the horses' legs are completely or partially missing, the handrail on the left side is only about 40% present and a portion of the back end and of the landing a re gone. Although it 's missing the driver, 5 out of the 6 original policemen are still present (2 are missing their club). While the figures and some of the railings show most of the wear, the nickel plating on rest is pretty much all there, though a bit thinned out. This having been said, the toy i s extremely rare and sculpturally very beautiful . Total length is 21 inches.
