Castleford Feldspathic Covered Sugar and Creamer 1800

I purchased this remarkable covered sugar and creamer 20 years ago from the estate of one of my mentors and instructors in the field of early ceramics. The sugar measures 5 and 3/4 inches to the top of the knop, 6 and 3/4 inches from handle to handle and 4 inches across the narrow portion of the oval. The creamer measures 4 and 3/4 inches to the top pf the spout, 5 and 1/4 inches from the tip of the spout to the farthest extension of the handle and 2 and 1/2 inches across the narrow part of the body. The pieces are unmarked with the exception of a number "36" impressed into the bottom of the sugar and the number "24" impressed on the bottom of the creamer. The creamer is in perfect condition without chips, cracks or stains. The covered sugar is perfect with the exception of a small fleabite chip on the underside of one of the handles and a small fleabite chip to the beaded edge of the top. I have attempted to show both in the photos but the chips are very small and hard to photograph. Otherwise, the sugar is free of chips, cracks or staining. Both pieces have typical borders of acanthus, palmettes and stylized classical scrolls. Inset panels on the pieces depict classical figures of a woman at an altar, a putto with a dolphin, and a standing figure. The crispness of the castings is superlative. Both date from the period around 1800. i beleive they have a salt glaze over the stoneware body. Winning bidder will pay actual shipping charges via priority mail plus insurance. I double box and carefully wrap all of my items. Ebay now requires me to estimate and post shipping charges. I usually estimate on the high side, so if the winning bidder will request a total, I will work with you on the actual shipping charges. I am again thinning my 30 year collection of early ceramics.
