Offered is a set of 18 photographic prints from the 1920s or 1930s, showing castles and historic towns of the Rhine Valley, Germany. Each is printed on heavy embossed matte paper measuring 7" x 9.5", the images each measuring 4" x 6.5". Most all are hand captioned in ink on back indicating the place name, and written in pencil on the back of one is the name F. Pinardel- possibly the French editor Francois Pinardel. This set of photos was salvaged from a house fire, among a box of paper items that I purchased from a Paris flea market several years ago. Condition is generally good- some prints are smudged on the borders or have edge or corner wear, but all are suitable for framing as originally intended. Shipping weight 1 lb safely packed.
