For auction is a very nice Catalin New Haven desk style clock. The clock is probably from the 1940's era but not sure. It measures 4.5" tall by 4" high by 1.5" thick. It is a wind-up clock only (no alarm feature) and does seem to keep generally good time. These small New Haven clocks were not known to be high end precise time pieces. The clock face and hands are in excellent condition without any damage or wear I can spot. The clock case is made of multicolored sections of catalin material and stacked to create a very attractive and colorful clock. T are two sections of yellow separated by a red and black section. The top is mulitcolored with purple, green, and black with some clear areas in it. Very attractive. The bottom is a reddish yellow swirl. The bottom surface has a hole in the very center of it but I am not sure what purpose it serves. Overall the clock case is in very nice condition with no cracks, chips or other damage. Because Catalin does have a tendency to shrink a little over time it can cause minor mismating of the pieces. This one shows some minor mismating w the top meets the sides. Someone appears to have tried to fill the small separation at some time but not very attractively. This condition could be cosmetically repaired very easily. This is a very unique and colorful clock. I believe it to be fairly rare. Nice addition to any bakelite, catalin, radio, or clock collection. Good Luck. Buyer to pay for shipping on approximately 3 pounds. Please do not pay in advance of receiving the Ebay invoice. Cost to be determined based on destination and any special shipping requirement of the buyer. Optional insurance is available at Buyers expense. I will ship promptly after confirmed payment. DO NOT rely on Ebay shipping costs as they may overstate or understate actual shipping costs. Ebay does not include shipping cost estimates of other recognized carriers and methods. Also, actual weight may be slightly different once item is packed. Because of this my humble opinion is that Ebayâe(tm)s involvement in shipping costs has only served to confuse the transaction between buyers and sellers.
