Catlinite Ancient Medicine Man Spirit Pipe MN Pipestone handcrafted demensions: 5 1/4" x 3" x 1 5/8"w bowl drilled at spacious 3/4" standard 3/8" stem opening Osiyo (hello). Welcome to my auctions. Feel free to look in on my other auctions and store as well. Once again, the fine coloring in this stone shows why MN Pipestone is one of the most sought after carving stones on earth. I offer an ancient eastern tribal medicine man who seeks guidance from the medicine bowl. A highly detailed piece. In the one hand he holds the clay bowl for the mixing of the medicines. The other grasps the medicine plants he will use for the healing. The first side shown is remarkably colored with shadings, swirls, and a star and t The other side is the deep rich red you will only see in MN pipestone. The pictures do not show it I don't believe, but his eyes are evident in person as well as the ring around the upper lip. This piece has been scraped, then sanded smooth using 3 progressively finer grit sandpaper. Only then comes the final polish. And the glassy shine is worth the trouble.
