I owned a Brick and Mortar Antique Store in the 1990's. I have closed my store and have sold on eBay for over 10 years. I have loved and collected antiques for 33+ years, and love finding that item you need to decorate your home and/or add to your collection. I am a part-time ebayer and am not online all the time. Please know that I will reply to any emailed questions, and always check emails a few hours before the auctions end. I am not an expert at everything sold, and I do not pretend to be. All items are sold as-is described/photoed. I inspect them when I photo and take pictures of damage found. I inspect again when I list, and attempt to disclose any known flaws or imperfections. If you see something not described, please let me know. The Description includes the pictures, so please check them out carefully in case t is damage I missed. Email all questions prior to the end of the auction, email before you bid. I post questions to the listing and you should check for new information added/questions answered before bidding. International Buyer's Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. ITEM DESCRIPTION This sale is for one of several pairs of eye glasses/eyeglasses that I have collected over the last year. These are in a style that I believe is called Cat's Eye as they have triangular corners on the outside upper edge of the glasses that point up/out, see picts. They may not be drastic enough to be called Cat's Eyes, so I have pictures so collectors can decide. I liked the polished aluminum frames, shiny with a pewter color but then decorated with etched detailing on the front upper outer edges with a shiny silver leafy garland, see picts. This same leafy garland pattern runs down the outside of ear arm. Nice in that the two screws/bolts that secure the arms to the frame appear to be berries in the garland, very nice detailing. The nose bridge portion of the frame is also a silver finish with etched detailing, and the wire/thin strip holding the lens in place is also a shiny silver. The lenses are prescription bifocals and the inside of one arm is marked, "American Optical 5 1/2". The other arm is marked, "Alum 5 1/2". The nose bridge I believe reads, "20/01/10 12KGF". These frames are 12 K gold filled. The eyeglasses measures approx. 5 1/4 inches across the front and each arm is approx. 5 1/2 inches long. The shipping weight is estimated at 1 pound, packed to ship. Item will be bubble wrapped and packed in Styrofoam peanuts before shipping, and will ship from 47869, and will include insurance. The eBay shipping cost estimator does not seem to be working for packages going to the Western United States. If the shipping seems too high and you are not comfortable calcing it yourself, PLEASE send me your zip code and I will be happy to send you cost information. I am told that my descriptions are too wordy, and that I describe minimal damage that should be expected in vintage/antique items. They are probably right, as this is an old item and shows it's age. Please check the pictures though and make sure that I did not miss any flaws that you might notice.
