OAK ALLEY - #6-3 from the SOUTHERN BELLE SERIES. Jacques Telesphore Roman, a sugar planter, bought this home for his bride in 1837, acquiring a marvelous landscape along with it. During the 18th century, a French settler planted two rows of oak trees from the home's entrance, leading to the river's edge. The trees grew into a romantic canopy, reminiscent of the antebellum South, leading up to the home. This is the Third in the Series. Dated 1998, signed 1998 and retired 1998.
