Highest expressions of Excellence, Sankaat makes it happen! Being presented for your consideration is this large Cauldon Hand Painted, Richly Gilded Cabinet Plate by H.J. Plant! Howard J. Plant was an accomnplished artist who started working for Cauldon porcelain in 1880, then moved to Coalport, Wedgwood, Colcolough, Cauldon again and finally Doulton. He was noted for his skill at creating fine Landscapes containing buildings and castles, all in a classic English style. This plate is painted with an English countryside scene of a tavern and a woman carrying a basket. The rim is decorated with a hand gilded neo classical swag and Gold dot motif, with ribbons of enameled roses. This plate measures 10.25 inches wide and is in EXCELLENT condition with no signs of wear or damage. This plate is marked on the reverse with the Cauldon Limited backstamp and the title of the handpainted landscape. This plate would be ideal for the serious Collector of fine English hand painted porcelain by firms such as Coalport, Cauldon, Copeland Spode, Minton, Browfield, Brown Westhead & Moore, Royal Worcester, Royal Doulton, Royal Crown Derby and Aynsley!
