Here is a one of a kind, WW1 Canadian 5th Div Relay Race award cup. The Cup was presented by B. G. A. E. Swift DSO, and was won by 13th Brigade CFA on May 24th 1917 Thw winners were Bomb H. S. French, Gnr J. M Varey, Gnr T. C. Holmes and Gnr J. F. McCullough.The Cup is solid Sterling Silver and stands 9 1/2 inchs high...very small dent at base.The Cup is maker marked by both John Newton Mappin..as well as Mappin and Webb, and this company still exists...well hallmarked as shown in the photosJust a Great one of a kind item for the 5th Div that was broken up for replacements for the other 4 CEF Divs in FranceThe Cup weighs 378 Grams of Sterling Silver..I do not want to see this melted for silver value...I want it to go to someone that wants this item for what it is..a great CEF CollectableThe SRD Jug in the photos is for scale only Again..this is one of a kind.....
