This battalion was raised out of Southwestern Ontario and served in the 1st Infantry Brigade of the 1st Canadian Division. Maker marked Hicks and Sons London. Measures about 45 mm x 45 mm with a separate white metal overlay secured by prongs which are folded over as evident on the reverse side of the badge. Lugs present and in decent shape. For one of the lugs, the metal forming the circular ring has separated such that there is a very small gap between the end of the ring and the straight post. This is only evident on close inspection and does not detract. No evidence of any repair. Badge is made of brass or copper with a separate white metal overlay.
