This is the “New Century Atlas of Orleans County New York”that was published by the Century Map Co, Philadelphia in 1913. It is big – the covers measure 18 X 24 inches. Since the town maps (and the plate maps of Medina and Albion) each fill two pages, they each are about 34 X 23 inches. Each map is printed so that they could be individually removed without losing or damaging other maps.
But no maps have been removed from this atlas. In addition to Albion and Medina and a map of the entire county, the following maps are found in the atlas: Communities: Ashwood, Barre Center, Carlton Station, Claredon, County Line, Eagle Harbor, Fancher, Gaines, Holley, Hulberton, Jeddo, Kendall, Kendall Mills, Kent, Kenyonville Knowlesville, Lyndonville, Millers, Millville, Morton, Murray, Ridgeway, Shelby, Waterport, West Kendall, Yates.Towns: Albion, Barre, Carlton, Clarendon, Gaines, Kendall, Murray, Ridgeway, Shelby, and Yates. There area also many pages of advertisements and descriptions of farms. I have included some samples of these also. The atlas is complete, but the covers, especially the front, are loose. The rest of the pages remain bound together. The very edges of the pages have darkened on some pages, and there are some brittle areas. I have taken a photo of one of the edges to show condition. A couple of pages have corners slightly creased or worn. Please examine the photos carefully. Please note I took the photos in natural light. All of the maps are in good condition, and none of the edge problems interfere with maps. Feel free to send any questions!
