Lubavitcher Rebbe Dollar The Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneersohn (1902-1994), is lovingly known as "The Rebbe," the seventh leader of the Chabad-Lubavitch Chassidic dynasty. In his late eighties and nineties, the Rebbe would stand for many hours greeting hundreds of people who lined up to seek his blessing. Each person was given a dollar (to be donated to charity) and a few moments to speak to the Rebbe. It was not uncommon that the Rebbe's dollar line would end well past midnight. The custom was to keep the Rebbe's Dollar and donate an alternate to charity. This dollar bill was personally given to me by the Rebbe on one of these occasions. I am selling this because I realize that t are many people who did not have an opportunity to get their own Rebbe Dollar. In keeping with the Rebbe's wishes, I pledge to donate a portion of the proceeds to charity. Please note: Any blessings issued by the Rebbe to me at the time he gave this dollar to me are NOT included in this sale and will remain associated with me. This bill has no writing on it and is in mint condition.
