This is a two-volume set of a catalogue raisonne of the paintings (landscapes, still lifes and portraits) of Lithuanian-born Chaim Soutine, one of the principal Expressionists of the School of Paris. Each of the 187 works is illustrated and accompanied by technical details and information on provenance, auctions, exhibitions, and references . Also includes an introduction to Soutine's life and work, chronology and master bibliography. Text is in English, German and French by Maurice Tuchman, Esti Dunow, and Klaus Perls. 780pp. (combined) Published by Benedikt Taschen Verlag, Koln, 1993. ISBN: 3822895044 Printed in Germany Dimensions: 13 x 10 inches. Each book is of black cloth boards with gilt facsimile signature on covers and gilt lettering on spines, in pictorial dustjackets and both volumes in one pictorial slipcase.
