CHALLENGE CUT CO. Bridgeport Conn. Up for auction is this Vintage CHALLENGE CUT CO. Bridgeport Conn. 4-1/8" trapper pattern pocket knife. An unusual Challenge knife that contains a saw blade, as well as a corkscrew. I was told it could be a physicians field knife. As many of the linaments in the past had actual corks, one would need a corkscrew to open these new bottles of medicine. The saw could be used to cut splints, or bone for that matter whatever the emergency required. This was just an opinion from another collector, but does make sense. Anyway, whatever it's purpose, this knife is in about as perfect condition as you will ever find. Both blades are tight and snap as new. Never used, sharpened, or cleaned. The bone handles are perfect as well. Just about impossible to upgrade. MINT with a few stains. Please read before bidding! Condition as seen in the pictures of the actual knife up for auction. I do not to clean any of my items for sale, leaving that up to the buyers discretion. I try and list any major faults in the listing. The items I sell are generally old, and therfore may exhibit use, wear, scratches, and occasionally a hairline pin crack which is not uncommon with antique cutlery, nor do I consider these major faults.
