Chamberstick - Sheild back - blue logo SEWINGâe"STITCHINGâe"DARNING! We're proud of this beautiful piece of Royal Bayreuth, a candle holder in the Sunbonnet Babies design.Gilding on the handle. T has been a professional restoration done at some time to this piece on the back side (see bottom photos). What we thought was the tree line and a change in paint color or an area of use-wear when we first photographed, we have now determine is restoration. See bottom photos. As well, the surface feel of the chamberstick does not have the smooth, worn texture, for its age; instead, it has a feel of newness, i.e. restoration. Again, professionally restored.The chamber stick is not original with us, and I do not know the history of the piece. As evidenced by the label, the Royal Bayreuth factory was founded in 1794 in Bavaria. I believe the label on the bottom of this candle holder shows that the piece was produced before 1919. If you have expert knowledge on this item, please share via e-mail, and I will post! We are new to antiques and are armed only with the Internet and a small library of books on antiques for our identification. I welcome questions.
