is a wonderful Union Factory warranted self adjusting plow plane with the number #239 1/2 stamped on the toe. It has been made by H. CHAPIN and has an owner's mark H. COURVAL . The body seems to be applewood, the arms and wooden tighteners are boxwood. The body and the arms measure 10 1/2 " each. T is a brass thumb screw on top and a brass knearled screw on the side that tighten the adjusting skate on depth stop on the bottom. T is no patent number visible, All parts are original and nothing appears to be missing. T is no major loss to the wooden screw threads, only minor nicks !!!! It works correctly. One turned nuts has a crack appearing but does not go all the way through,( SEE ALL PICS !!!!! ) Don' t miss your chance with this little beauty !!!! a must for serious collector.
