This is a charcoal sketch of an U.S. Military man named Henry Lemmon. Mr. Kinghan was doing charcoal sketches for soliders to send home as a way to boost morale. Was not able to find out much about this in any biographical works. Would welcome any feedback on this item. I received this directly from Mr. Lemmon who has no surviving family to speak of by his own accord, and served during WWII. I was able to save this item from being destroyed. Drawing is on a 16" x 12 1/2" mint condition drawing tablet paper. I am offering free shipping in U.S. via Parcel Post and will gladly adjust any international shipping by $10.00 usd towards the total. Thank you Kinghan was born in Anthony, KS on January 18, 1895. Teacher. Moved to Wichita as a teenager and did sign painting for the Western Sign Works. Studied at the Chicago Academy of Fine Art in 1916, the American Academy of Art in Chicago, the Audubon School of Art, and the Art Institute of Chicago. Pupil of Carl Scheffler, J. Wellington Reynolds, and H.A. Oberteuffer. Taught at the Art Institute of Chicago and at the American Academy of Art in Chicago.
