In 1992, a Southern California arts magazine, which was edited by David Mills, was planningto reprint several chapters of Bukowski's novel Hollywood. Hollywood concerned the writingand checkered production of the film Barfly. For the magazine project, Hank wasasked to provide a drawing to accompany the chapters. That project unfortunately never came to fruition, but what remains are Buk's short correspondence with David Mills and an incredible line drawing.Stand-alone drawings and/or any hand-written letters from Bukowski are virtually impossible to find. Both of these items are amazingly unique and were produced just 2 years before Bukowski's death in 1994. I've personally never seen or heard of another full-scale line drawing done at this late date, and Bukowski was at this point beginning his last battle with Leukemia, so it's likely this is the last. These drawings were done in black marker on 8.5x11typewriter paper and are in fine shape, with the slightest of age-toning around the edges and minor small creases. There's a lot of Bukowski items on eBay right now, some of which are pretty interesting, but nothing that remotely approachesthe rarity and unique quality of these items. No international shipping.
